"Families are the compass that guide us. They are the inspiration to reach great heights, and our comfort when we occasionally falter."
-Brad Henry
My family has and always will be there for me no matter what. To the left on the boat is my Mom's, side of the family. My mom's side is also known as the competitive side. They're the ones that push me to my full potential in anything I do. They are always telling me to 'suck it you're fine', 'come on your stronger than that!' 'you can do it!' But what amazes me is a family so competitive still has a soft side. Everyone knows that your back is covered. You're not alone, and you're never going to be left alone. As for my dad's side of the family, that's where I get one on one love and compassion and my grandma's strong faith in God can't help but touch me and give me hope and strength in his name. My Aunt Michele has Down Syndrome, and has taught me patience and compassion towards others. She always has a big smile and a hug waiting for me. My family has never let me down. Having the two different types of families keeps a balance between fun& serious.
Being a parent is one of the hardest jobs out there. They're the ones that have to make some of the hardest decisions, stay strong, and show us the ropes in life. My parents are one of a kind. Without their love and support I wouldn't be the person I am today. Both of them have showed me that you can be strong enough to over come anything, and still be able to ask for help if you need it. Not only have my parents supported me and helped me through everything, but also my little sister. We may not have the best relationship but I know that I can always count on her if I need anything.
True Friendships are hard to find, but there are some that stick with you until the end. Ashlee, the one on the left in the dress is someone I've known since before kindergarten. Ashlee has showed me that everybody is unique, and it's okay to be unique. The beginning of elementary school is where I met my good friend Maija, bottom picture in the black sweater. Maija has taught me that you don't always have to get along all the time, for someone to still care for you when you need them, or when you think you don't even know when you need them. Cassie, the one to the right with the bathing suit on is someone I haven't known for more than 10 years; but she has definitely had an impact on me. Cassie has showed me how to laugh, at times when you think it's not possible. These 3 girls all mean the world to me, and each one of them have supported me, and showed me something different but they all have helped me understand that even if you don't talk every minute of everyday, you can still count on them being there for you.
